Whether you’re at work, shopping, on vacation or standing in line at the movies, mobile banking makes it easy to stay on top of your finances. And now you can even make deposits to your account from your smartphone whenever you want, using our Mobile Deposit Capture.

To comply with Reg CC amendment concerning mobile deposits, all mobile deposits will have to be properly endorsed with the following endorsement:

How do I access Texas Bay Credit Union’s wireless mobile banking?

You will need Texas Bay Credit Union Online Banking access (User ID and Password) and a wireless device with an Internet connection. Simply enter the www.tbacu.org or m.tbacu.org into the browser of your Internet-enabled wireless device and then log in using your Texas Bay Credit Union Online Banking User ID and Password.

What happens if I get locked out?

As with Texas Bay Credit Union’s Online Banking, you must call Member Services at 713-852-6700 during normal business hours to reset your password. Once your password is reset, you will need to use your new password on Texas Bay Credit Union’s Online Banking via a PC first. After your new password has been validated on a PC, you are now able to resume using Wireless Mobile Banking.

Can I use Texas Bay Credit Union’s Wireless Mobile Banking if I don’t have a Texas Bay Credit Union account?

No. You must have a Texas Bay Credit Union account in order to use Texas Bay Credit Union’s Wireless Mobile Banking.

Texas Bay Credit Union’s Wireless Mobile Banking is encrypted using the Wireless Transport Layer Security (WTLS) protocol, which provides the highest level of security available today. Additionally, all data that passes between the wireless gateway, MShift’s Servers, and Texas Bay Credit Union’s web servers is encrypted using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) layer.

    • Protect your data with encryption
      Encrypt all data by utilizing complete device encryption options, such as PGP or Utimaco. Encrypt sensitive or critical data by utilizing programs such as Secret! from LinkeSOFT. Always select a long, hard-to-guess key comprised of numbers, letters and symbols as data is only as safe as the key used to encrypt it.
    • Utilize anti-virus / anti malware software , such as Avast 4 PDA, Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0, or McAfee PDA Virus Scanner.
    • Utilize anti-spyware , such as PDA Spybot or Trend Micro Anti-Spyware.
    • Backup PDA configuration and data on a regular basis
    • Help keep unauthorized persons from accessing PDAs

“Lock and Wipe” the PDA If the wrong password is used multiple times in a row, this option remotely wipes the PDA and stored data (SD) cards clean.

  • If lost or stolen, immediately deactivate the PDA


Keep the customer service number handy to contact the carrier as soon as the PDA is known to be missing.

Does Texas Bay Credit Union’s Wireless Mobile Banking have an iPhone App?

No. However, you can create a shortcut icon for your iPhone Home Screen. Simply follow the instructions below:

  • Open Safari and navigate to wireless.salemfive.com
  • Touch the “+” sign on the Safari toolbar (bottom of screen)
  • Touch the “Add to Home Screen” button to create the bookmark
  • Type in “TBCU” or create your own title for the shortcut
  • Touch “Add” at the top right to confirm your choice

You’re done! You now have a shortcut icon to Texas Bay Credit Union’s Mobile Banking website on your Home Screen.

Pocket PC Devices: I am able to view the home page of Texas Bay Credit Union’s Wireless Mobile Banking on my Pocket PC, but when I attempt to log in I get an error message.

When you attempt to gain access to a secure Web site from Windows CE, you may receive the following error message: “Unable to establish secure connection” Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer may issue either of the following error messages: “The page you are looking for cannot be found” or “Unable to establish secure connection” To resolve this issue, update to the Microsoft High Encryption Pack for Pocket PC. This add-on supports MD% certificates with the new hashing algorithm. For information about how to update to the Microsoft High Encryption Pack for Pocket PC, view the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/highencryption.mspx Download the needed file, then synchronize your pocket PC.

PalmOne Handhelds: How do I access Salem Five Wireless Mobile Banking on my Palm?

First, please ensure that your PalmOne Handheld has an Internet connection via a wireless Internet service provider (Wireless ISP). Once you verify that you can connect to the Internet, you can access Salem Five Wireless Mobile Banking. Simply login to your Texas Bay Credit Union’s Online Banking service by typing in www.tbacu.org or m.tbacu.org.

RIM Blackberry Phones: How do I access Texas Bay Credit Union’s Wireless Mobile Banking on my RIM Blackberry?

You must ensure that you have a browser installed on your RIM Blackberry. If you are not sure if your RIM Blackberry has a browser installed, please check with your service provider. Once you verify that you have a browser, you may simply enter www.tbacu.org or m.tbacu.org in your browser.

Why am I unable to log in using my Blackberry phone?

Please check the settings on your Blackberry phone to ensure it is enabled to browse Secure/SSL sites.

When I attempt to go to the Texas Bay Credit Union’s Wireless URL I get an error message.

You may get the message “Access Denied: Insecure SSL Request” When clicking on More Info, you may also receive the following message: “Your MDS has been configured to deny SSL requests to servers that have certificates which are untrusted or expired. Try using Device Side SSL which can be modified in your TLS Options. Contact your system administrator with any questions.”
If you receive these messages, change your Blackberry Options settings as follows: Select Options, then TLS; under the TLS Default, select Change Option to “Handheld,” not “Proxy”

Mobile Phones: I keep getting locked out of my account when I try and login on my mobile phone. Why doesn’t it accept my login information?

Using your mobile phone to enter data takes a little practice. Passwords are case sensitive; make sure you are entering your password exactly as it is set up. If your password begins with a lower-case letter, you may need to use your phone’s shift key to change the default from upper case. In addition, some phones require extra shift key presses to enter numbers instead of letters.

Why can’t I see the first few transactions of my account history?

Due to the screen size on the mobile phone, only a limited amount of information can be displayed. Some mobile phones take you to the middle or bottom of a new page instead of the top. To make sure you are at the top of the page, use the up arrow key on the phone to scroll all the way to the top of the page. If you want to view more information below, use the down arrow key to scroll down until you come to a “More” link. When you click on “More,” it will take you to the next page of information.

How do I know if my phone is web-enabled?

If you have a MiniBrowser, MicroBrowser or Wireless Web on your phone’s main menu, then it is web-enabled. Contact your mobile phone carrier to confirm that your phone is web-enabled and that the service is activated.
